We’ve teamed up with Philly’s R.E.Load baggage company to produce an upcoming run of expertly hand-stitched-and-sewn messenger bags available exclusively at Shop Gentei. All manufacturing on these ultra-durable bags in done in-house, with R.E.Load handling the construction end and Gentei managing silk screening duties. Tons of special details throughout, from custom flannel interior to the giant Gentei tiger logo which stretches across the bottom. Available January ‘09, limited to 30 pieces.

MOONEYES VANS

One of the most respected names in hot rod history, Mooneyes is racing legend Dean Moon’s official brand. Mooneyes Japan and Vans have teamed up for this sick collaboration and these are available now at Shop Gentei—in-store at the downtown Baltimore location only!

SHOP GENTEI PRESENTS MOTORPSYCHO

Our downtown Baltimore location has just received its bi-annual facelift with the all-new Motorpsycho theme. This time we’ve transformed 1010 Morton St. into a motorcycle garage, complete with a 1978 Yamaha serving as the centerpiece. We’ll be working on the bike in-shop all season long, so stop by often to see the progress.

Ollie—Japan’s premier skate and fashion mag—once again spotlight’s the excellent Calee clothing line. Shop Gentei was recruited for help with the shoot. Photographed by Kenshu Sannohe in Baltimore, Ollie is available everywhere in Japan and is on newsstands now.

FRANK 151 CHAPTER 34: ZOLTAR

Just in! The 34th issue of everyone’s favorite pocket-sized digest of culture is now available at Shop Gentei. Guest-edited this month by the mysterious UK design collective Zoltar for 159 pages of off-kilter mental nourishment. Free in store and with all online orders while supplies last.

DREAMSELLER

A longtime friend of Gentei, Brandon Novak’s harrowing rise and fall from Skateboarding prodigy to drug addict is a tale as real and as frightening as any ever told. “Dreamseller: An Addiction Memoir” chronicles Novak’s journey, and ultimately his redemption, in this brand-new hardcover from Citadel Press.

Featuring a foreword by Tony Hawk. “Dreamseller” is set to be a major motion picture starring Bam Margera. Gentei was lucky enough to obtain a small number of copies personally signed by Novak himself. 252 pages. $21.95. 

VANS X TAKA HAYASHI

Thursday

Vans unveils one of the most anticipated collaborations in recent memory, alongside Japanese artist Taka Hayashi. Available only at select retailers throughout the world, this series is even more limited than Vans’ infamous Syndicate line.

Taka’s spin on the No Skool Mid Vulcanized. The attention to detail on these shoes is simply unsurpassed—from the suede stitching across the side to the pony-hair tongue. $120.

The Taka Rowley Shambles in seal brown. Intricate etching throughout. Taka took existing elements of each shoe and transformed them entirely with experimental fabrications and materials. $130.



Rounding out the pack is the Owens Hi Vulcanized. Premium-grade lace cover with bone etching, nubuck, and additional pony-hair detailing. $140.
